Summer's almost 2!!

This is Summer a year after the day we first received her photos.

Hello to all. It has been awhile and I thought I would update everybody on our little "ray of sunshine"!! Summer is wonderful. We recently had her heart appointment. Our doctor was so pleased with the results of the surgery. It had been difficult in December because she was still traumatized by the surgery and they were not able to do an extensive ultrasound. However, this time around, Summer charmed everyone! She was so still and quiet during the ultrasound that they were able to really see everything they needed to see. The doctor said, "Her heart looks perfect! He also stated that the valve repair was one of the best he had seen. He said that usually they remain a little leaky, however, hers was perfect. We are praising God for the wonderful report! He has truly answered prayers.

Summer truly loves all the "girly" things. In fact, my sister brought over some of those little princess high heeled plastic shoes. I put them up thinking that Summer was too little for them. She found them and wanted them on and is working on mastering the art of walking in high heels.....something I can't even do! I should have known. She is such a "shoe girl" anyway! It is just so cute to see her little smiles and shoulder shrugs as she is walking around in these shoes.

She also continues to love being with the boys and I am really having to work to remember that what the boys get....Summer will want. So I always need to have a little something for her. At the moment, she loves Spiderman figures! She loves her "family" cloth picture book that Gran Corbett made and it is so sweet to hear her point to "her family" and say their names. She has recently been pointing at me a lot and simply saying "mama". Many times during the day, while Summer is playing, I hear her say the names of her family. She lists them all off. It is so precious. It's like she KNOWS we belong to her and she belongs to us! I LOVE IT!! I often think of Summer's biological mother and wish she in some way could be a part of Summer's life. I wish she could see her smile. Her smile lights up a room. I pray that, in some way, her family might know in their hearts that their little "Su mei " (third sister) has a family who loves her fiercely. I am greatful to them for the precious gift of her life.
